A 79-year-old man, identified as Fotis Photiou, has died in a traffic collision in occupied Famagusta.
The incident occurred on Holy Thursday when Photiou’s vehicle collided with a bus, under circumstances that are currently under investigation.
Photiou was travelling with his wife near the occupied village of Davlos when the collision took place. The bus was empty of passengers at the time.
As a result of the crash, Photiou sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His wife, also a passenger in the car, was hospitalised with minor injuries in the occupied area but has since been released.
