Despina Matheou

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother
Despina Matheou, on 20th March 2024, at 95 years old.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister sister-in-law, Despina leaves behind three children Anthony, Helen, Stella, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 3 siblings, along with many relatives and friends.
Despina came to England in 1950 with her husband Yiannis Matheou (Bacchus) who passed away on 2000, 70 years old. They worked hard all their life and had many
restaurants over the years.
The funeral will be held on Monday 15th April 2024, at 1:00pm, at the Greek
Orthodox Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God, Wood Green, Trinity Road, London N22 8LB, followed by the burial at the New Southgate Cemetery, Brunswick Park Road, New Southgate N11 1JJ. The wake will be held at The Penridge Suite, 470 Bowes Rd, Arnos Grove, London N11 1NL. Flowers at the discretion of mourners can be sent to Demetriou & English Funeral Directors, 131-133 Myddleton Rd, London N22 8NG to arrive by 9:00 am, Monday 15th April. Alternatively donations can be made to Dementia Society. Donation box will be available on the day.

Με μεγάλη μας λύπη ανακοινώνουμε τον θάνατο της αγαπημένης μας μητέρας
Δέσποινα Ματθαίου, στις 20 Μαρτίου 2024, σε ηλικία 95 ετών.
Στοργική σύζυγος, μητέρα, γιαγιά, κουνιάδα, η Δέσποινα καταλείπει τρία παιδιά τον Αντώνη, την Ελένη, τη Στέλλα, 9 εγγόνια, 3 δισέγγονα και 3 αδέρφια, καθώς και πολλούς συγγενείς και φίλους.
Η Δέσποινα ήρθε στην Αγγλία το 1950 με τον σύζυγό της Γιάννη Ματθαίου
(Βάκχος) που έφυγε από τη ζωή το 2000, σε ηλικία 70 ετών. Δούλεψαν σκληρά όλη τους τη ζωή και είχαν ανοίξει πολλά εστιατόρια μέσα στα χρόνια.
Η κηδεία θα γίνει τη Δευτέρα 15 Απριλίου 2024, στις 1μ.μ, από τον καθεδρικό ναό Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου, Wood Green, Trinity Road, London N22 8LB, ακολουθούμενος από την ταφή στο κοιμητήριο New Southgate, Brunswick Park Road, N11 1JJ. Η παρηγοριά θα δοθεί στο The Penridge Suite, 470 Bowes Rd, Arnos Grove, London N11 1NL.
Τα λουλούδια μπορούν να σταλούν στο Demetriou & English Funeral Directors, 131-133 Myddleton Rd, London N22 8NG, μέχρι τις 9π.μ., τη Δευτέρα 15 Απριλίου. Εναλλακτικά μπορούν να γίνουν εισφορές στο Dementia Society. Ένα κουτί θα είναι διαθέσιμο την ημέρα της κηδείας.
