Two billion Euros project to build overground rail system in Cyprus has been proposed and to be built by 2030.
The Rail system first stage will run from Larnaca Airport to Nicosia.
Then a second stage from Larnaca to Limassol ending in Pafos to be built by 2032.

    I hope whoever is awarded the Contract will be on a Penalty Clause if they run over time! It will happen!

    Can’t see the point of this at all on an island that is so small where distance is not an issue. To ruin the natural landscape as has been done with those ugly wind farms which have been proven to cause more harm than benefit. Trains which will ADD to the carbon footprint of the island etc A waste of time and waste of money which could be much better spent.

    Don’t believe all that you hear. The government are supposed to be building a LNG platform in the sea at Vassiliko to get the gas into the Power Station so we can have cheaper electricity. If you run a electric train on Power Station that use oil. It will cost more billions
