Residents across the borough are being urged to register to vote in the elections for the Mayor of London and London Assembly taking place on Thursday 2 May. The deadline is approaching soon – all registration applications must be received by Tuesday 16 April. Residents can register to vote here External link.

The deadline for applying for a postal vote also falls next week, with residents needing to apply for a postal vote by 5pm on Wednesday 17 April. Postal vote applications can be made here External link.

These will be the first elections to be held in Barnet where voter ID is required. The UK Government has introduced a requirement for voters to show photo ID when voting at a polling station.
