The results of Match Day 6 of the second part of the Cyprus Football League, make the battle for the Championship much more interesting.

For the Group B’ the results of Match Day 8 make the situation much even clearer regarding the teams that are favorites to be promoted to the 2nd Division.

For Group A, Anorthosis’ victory over APOEL on Sunday resulted in renewed interest for the Championship, as the Nicosia team saw the difference it had with second-placed AEK and third-placed Omonia reduced to 1 and 4 points, while Aris lost significant ground as the team remained 5 points behind the top of the Standings, after having been defeated by Omonia.

Results of Match Day 6: APOEL – Anorthosis 0-2, Omonia – Aris 3-0, AEK – Paphos FC 3-0.

Standings: APOEL 66, AEK 65, Omonia 62, Aris 61, Paphos 57, Anorthosis 52.

For Group B, AEL beat away AEZ on Monday with 5-1 and climbed to the 2nd place of the Standings along with Nea Salamina with 44 points.

With this defeat, AEZ remained in the last position of the standings with 17 points. The other two favorites for relegation are Othellos who was defeated by Nea Salamis and Doxa who lost to Apollon.

Results of Match Day 8: AEZ-AEL 1-5, Othellos – Nea Salamina 2-3, Karmiotissa– Ethnikos Achnas 1-4, Doxa Katokopias – Apollon 0-2.
