† DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT –  FUNERAL

Vassos Stavrou (the shoemaker)

(From Larnaca, Cyprus)

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, Vassos Stavrou, who passed away, on Sunday 10th March 2024, at the age of 77.

Vassos was born in Larnaca in Cyprus and came to England at a young age in 1964.

Vassos was a loving husband to wife †Androulla (passed away in 2018) and father to †Maria (passed away in 2015), and leaves behind his sons George and Michael,

grandchildren Andrea, Vassia, George, George, Kristopher, Maria and Sophia, great granddaughter Alessia, son in law Christaki and daughter in law Jo.

“He was a gentle and kind person who was always helping others and made everyone smile.”

The funeral will take place on Thursday 28th March 2024, at 12.00pm, at St John The Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, Wightman Road, N8 0LY -Haringey, followed by the burial at New Southgate Cemetery, Brunswick Park Road, N11 1JJ, at 2pm. The family would like to invite you to the wake which will be held at the Greek Cypriot Brotherhood, 2 Britannia Road, N12 9RU. A collection box will be available for anyone who wishes to donate to Chris Harmanda Foundation.

Με μεγάλη μας λύπη ανακοινώνουμε τον θάνατο του αγαπημένου μας πατέρα, παππού και ο προπάππου Βάσου Σταύρου που έφυγε από τη ζωή, την Κυριακή 10 Μαρτίου 2024, σε ηλικία 77 ετών.

Ο Βάσος γεννήθηκε στη Λάρνακα της Κύπρου και ήρθε στην Αγγλία σε νεαρή ηλικία το 1964. Ο Βάσος ήταν ένας τρυφερός σύζυγος στη σύζυγο του † Ανδρούλλα (απεβίωσε το 2018) και πατέρας της † Μαρίας (απεβίωσε το 2015), και καταλείεπει τους γιους του Γιώργο και Μιχαήλ, τα εγγόνια του Άντρια, Βάσια, Γιώργο, Γιώργο, Χριστόφορος, Μαρία και Σοφία, τη δισέγγονή του Αλέσια, γαμπρό Χριστάκη και νύφη Jo.

«Ήταν ένα ευγενικό άτομο που πάντα βοηθούσε τους άλλους και έκανε όλους, να χαμογελούν.»

Η κηδεία θα γίνει την Πέμπτη 28 Μαρτίου 2024, στις 12.00 μ.μ., από τον ιερό ναό Αγίου Ιωάννη του Βαπτιστή, Hornsey / Haringey, Wightman Road, London N8 0LY.

Θα ακολουθήσει η ταφή στο κοιμητήριο New Southgate,

Brunswick Park Road, N11 1JJ, στις 2μ.μ. Η οικογένεια θα ήθελε να σας προσκαλέσει στην παρηγοριά που θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην Ελληνοκυπριακή Αδελφότητα,

2 Britannia Road, N12 9RU. Ένα κουτί συλλογής θα είναι διαθέσιμο για όποιον επιθυμεί να κάνει εισφορές στο Ίδρυμα Chris Harmanda.
