UK Cypriot Stephanie Costi, who came third in ITV’s ABBA-themed competition Mamma Mia! I Have a Dream, announced in a Instagram post that she will be joining the cast of FAME in Athens!
The 22-year-old will play the role of Serena in the musical production which runs from 1-10 March 2024 at the Christmas Theater in the Greek capital.
Based on the 1980 film of the same name, FAME follows the lives, ambitions, loves and dreams of students at New York’s High School of Performing Arts as they struggle to make it in the tough field of the entertainment industry.
Conceived and developed by David De Silva, the musical has been performed on stages in over 50 countries with huge success, and was nominated for two Laurence Olivier Awards.
Stephanie joined the Tring Park School of the Performing Arts in 2012 which she attended for seven years. She then moved on to the Guildford School of Acting for three years, graduating in 2022. She describes her time there as “the most incredible experience,” adding, “I learnt so much about myself, honed my skills and built my confidence significantly which prepped me well for the professional industry.”
