Good news! The Twelve Apostles Church Foodbank on Kentish Lane, Brookmans Park, is open again following a brief recess to make way for a long-awaited building project.
The foodbank, which is run wholly by a dedicated team of volunteers, has been working hard behind the scenes to maintain a skeletal service.
Since January 2024, the food bank has been fully operational again, providing an essential weekly food parcel for a growing number of elderly people and school families throughout the Hertfordshire borough.
For those members of our local community, who amid the soaring cost of living, sickness or unemployment approach our foodbank for much needed assistance, our hope is that nobody will ever be turned away.
If you run a school or know of a neighbour or loved one in need of such assistance, kindly call our church office on 01707 650147 or email [email protected].
To continue this important ministry, we need as much prayer and financial support from the wider community as possible. Food donations as well as volunteers and drivers are also essential to our work. If you can spare one hour a week, to help with packing or deliveries, kindly email [email protected].
You can also drop-off non-perishable food, cleaning products, toiletries and bags, Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm or make a financial donation via a bank transfer, referencing ‘Foodbank’ using: – Account: 53667138 and Sort Code: 20-05-73.
One hundred per cent of every single donation made to our foodbank helps improve the lives of people, young and old, in a practical way, every single day.
Therefore, on Behalf of Fathers Joseph and Demetrianos, and the committee at the Twelve Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, we would like to thank all our current and future contributors and patrons who help to sustain this project going forward.
Christ’s blessings to all.
