Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire at a block of flats on Buckingham Palace Road in Victoria. 

A four-roomed flat on the first floor was destroyed by the fire and a small part of a four-roomed flat on the second floor was damaged by the fire. Around 40 people left the building before the arrival of the Brigade. Three people were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

The Brigade was called at 1701 and the fire was under control by 1744. Firefighters from Chelsea, Lambeth, Soho and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
