A UK Cypriot owned restaurant has won big at the British Kebab Awards 2024.

The Fig Tree Grill in The Broadway, Potters Bar, was named Best Greek Restaurant for the second year running at the awards ceremony which took place at the Park Plaza Westminster Hotel in London last Tuesday (27 February) night.

Among the panel of judges was Mike Theodorou, one of the directors of Big K, the largest coal distribution company in Britain.

Awards founder Ibrahim Dogus was quick to congratulate all the winners, saying: “The 12th British Kebab Awards continue to highlight the incredible talent and innovation within our beloved kebab industry. This event is a testament to the hard work and dedication of those who contribute to making the UK’s kebab scene truly exceptional.”

Leigh Phillipson, director of sales at Just Eat, who sponsored the awards, added: “We would like to congratulate all the winners and finalists of this year’s British Kebab Awards, which we’ve proudly supported for over a decade.”

Fig Tree Grill is owned by UK Cypriot couple Nick and Lia Louca who opened the restaurant in 2020.
The British Kebab Awards in association with JUST EAT recognise and champion the efforts of local kebab takeaways and restaurants across the nation.
