With a place in the final of the U15 League Cup up for grabs, this ‘local derby’ semi-final between U15’s AEK Youth and New Salamis was a great spectacle for the supporters.

With the game underway, AEK settled well, found their rhythm and took the game to their opponents. AEK were controlling the game and creating chances, with Salamina happy to sit deep and try to hit AEK on the break. A tight first half saw it goalless at half time.

With the second half underway it was AEK who dealt the first blow and after some great play from AEK Captain Lucca, he fed the ball to Kyros who hit it first time low into the bottom corner and out of the GK’s reach.

Credit to Salamis who continued to battle, but it was AEK who were in the ascendancy and were creating, but were not capitalising on their chances. With 10 mins left to play, after some good work from Angel who shrugged off 2 challenges, laid it off to Lucca who capped off a fine display with a tidy, low finish.

A competitive game saw AEK take the spoils as deserved victors who now play in the Watford Friendly League U15 League Cup final in May.

Goals – Kyros, Lucca
MOM – Arjon. Mr Dependable, kept the opposition at bay with a commanding centre back performance.
