Police are appealing for witnesses and information following two incidents in Potters Bar.
The first incident occurred at around midday on Monday (19 February). It is reported that a woman was verbally abused while walking her dog off Darkes Lane, along a path leading to the disused Potters Bar Golf Club (crime reference 41/14322/24).
The second incident occurred around an hour later, at the same location, when a female dog walker was reportedly punched in the face before her gold necklace was forcibly removed (crime reference number 41/14314/24).
Following fast-time enquiries, a 44-year-old woman from Potters Bar was arrested on suspicion of robbery, committing a public order offence, and assaulting three emergency workers (police officers). She has since been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
Detective Constable Gemma Haines, from the Local Crime Unit, said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and I am appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.
“This area is popular with dog walkers, and there may have been several people in the area at the time and who saw what happened. We’d be particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a woman walking a large group of around 12 dogs.
“If you saw anything, or have any further information that might assist our investigation, please email me. Thank you.”
