President Nicos Christodoulides’ difficulty expressing a clear position on the Guterres Framework and approaches raises concerns

The appointment of the UN Secretary General’s Cyprus Personal Envoy on Cyprus and the first round of contacts made marked the beginning of a new effort to resume the negotiations on the Cyprus problem after a 7-year stalemate noted Stavri Kalopsidiotou, member of the Central Committee of AKEL and AKEL candidate for the European Parliament elections.

Speaking to ‘Astra’ radio, Stavri Kalopsidiotou also mentioned the contacts of the UN Secretary General’s Personal Envoy with civil society so far, and expressed the view that these contacts made the effort to restart the dialogue in a more inclusive manner more important.
