This is Omonia Youth U15’s first trip abroad and it will be a special one, as they will be playing three Cypriot Aca-demy Youth teams; AEK Larnaca (Monday 12th February 2024), Omonia (Wednesday 14th Febru-ary 2024) and Anorthosis (Thurs-day 15th February 2024).
The boys are so very excited and have been eagerly counting the days until they depart. Not only are they looking forward to the matches, but the whole experience of going on tour with their friends.
Omonia Youth U15 White have been together as a team since they started at U8s. The original squad of 8 players were all from the same school, then continued to add mostly friends of the boys to expand the team.
All the new additions to the squad over the years have struck up great friendships and rapport with their teammates. This has helped create, what the coaches feel is a really special and unique group of boys, with a special team spirit, that goes beyond that of just a football team. A team that continues to grow, develop with every passing day, week and month they train and play toge-ther.
Myri Demetriou and Kyri Eleftheriou have been co-coaches to the team from the very beginning. They now have a third member to the coaching team since 2023, Josef Da Silva.
They have achieved a league runners up spot in their League and won a Youth tournament.
