A Police press release said that two cameras were expected to be activated at the junction of 28th October Avenue and Iakovos Tombazis Avenue and two at the junction of Amathus Avenue opposite the Arsinoe Hotel.

Two more will operate at the junction of Amathountos Avenue and Ariadne street.

Four fixed cameras already operate in Limassol district, at the intersection of Archbishop Makarios III – Nikos Pattihis and Archbishop Leontios I avenues and four at the intersection of Archbishop Makarios III and Agia Zoni avenues.

In Larnaca, two cameras were expected to be activated on Monday on a section of the Kiti-Mazotos road.

It is noted that mobile cameras are already in use for speed control in the Limassol and Larnaca districts.

Cameras are expected to be installed in 12 more locations in Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca, the Police added.

In this way, it is expected that by the end of March 2024, a total of 90 fixed cameras will be operating at 30 points on the road network.

“The aim is always to reduce the number of serious and fatal road accidents, as well as to promote good road awareness in our country”, the Police added.
