Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was left bleeding after an assault.

At around 10.15pm on Wednesday 29 November, the victim was walking down the stairs in Piccadilly Circus underground station toward the Piccadilly Line platforms.

During the walk, he was pushed by an unknown man who continued to act aggressively before hitting the victim in the back of the head.

As the victim attempted to get on the train, the man punched him in the face, causing his nose to bleed profusely.

The suspect is described as mixed race and around 6ft in his early 20s or late teens. He was wearing a blue Crombie-type coat with a zip puffa on the inside.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who was witness to the assault or has any information that would assist their enquiries.
