Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a serious road traffic collision on the A1(M).

The incident occurred at around 1.25pm on Boxing Day (Tuesday 26 December), on the northbound carriageway.

Six vehicles were involved in a collision in the Hatfield Tunnel, and road closures were put in place at Junction 3 as a result.

Two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries where they remain at this time.

PC Mark Gardner, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and I am appealing for any witnesses to please get in touch.

“If you were driving in the area at the time and have a dash-cam fitted, please check it as you may have recorded some crucial footage to assist with our investigation. Additionally, if you have any further information, please email me.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience while we carried out investigations at the scene as the road remained closed for some time.”
