Christina Nikolaou: What is happening in Akamas is criminal – Some people have not done their job properly

There are many questions that arise in relation to the road improvement projects in Akamas National Forest Park, stressed the head of AKEL’s energy and environment sector, Christina Nicolaou.
Speaking to the Astra Morning Edition, she pointed out that what is happening in Akamas is criminal. She stressed that there are responsibilities and some people have not done their job properly.
Nicolaou said that after the strong reactions of AKEL and environmental organisations and after a large part of Akamas had been destroyed, only then did the government proceed to appoint a person responsible for the issue.
He also noted that AKEL will insist and will again request the administrative inquiry, the results of which are expected around mid-January.
He noted that the inquiry should also be officially sent to the Agriculture Committee of the Parliament for parliamentary scrutiny.
