Wham! remained at Number 1 in the UK for a second consecutive week, putting them firmly among the favourite contenders for the Christmas Number 1 crown on Friday.

Last Christmas holds steady at the Official Singles Chart summit, claiming its fifth non-consecutive week at Number 1 overall since finally managing to top the charts for the first time in January 2021.

The track has gone 6 times platinum in the UK and the US, and has had over 1.6 billion streams worldwide.

Others in the race for the No1 spot are the UK’s 2022 Eurovision entrant Sam Ryder with You’re Christmas To Me, The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl with a brand new release of Fairytale of New York, and, of course, the Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey, with All I Want For Christmas Is You.

The Official Christmas No1 2023 will be revealed on Friday 22 December.
