† DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT – FUNERAL

Sotiris Toumazou

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the death of our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother Sotiris Toumazou, who passed away peacefully on Monday 20th November 2023, aged 81.

He leaves behind a devoted wife Efrossini, daughter Iliana, son-in-law John, granddaughters Christiana, Florentia & her fiancé Nicholas and Antonia. As well as his last surviving sibling Markos and many relatives and friends.

The funeral will take place on Friday 8th December 2023, at 11.30am at St John The Theologian Greek Orthodox Church, 184 Mare Street, Hackney, London, E8 3RD.

The burial will follow at 1.30pm at Chingford Mount Cemetery 121 Old Church Road, London E4 6ST.

The wake will take place back at the Hall of St John The Theologian Church where Sotiris Toumazou was a congregational member for more than 50 years. Floral tributes are welcome, however there will also be a collection box for those wishing to donate to charities very dear to him. Proceeds will be going to MacMillan who helped him through his battle with cancer, Great Ormond Street Hospital where he was an avid charity member and St John the Theologian Church.

He was a devoted loving Husband, Father, Grandfather Brother, Uncle and Godfather. He had the biggest heart and was the most generous person one could ever have known.

A True Gentleman One of a Kind who will be forever remembered. May his memory be eternal.

Με μεγάλη θλίψη και ραγισμένες καρδιές ανακοινώνουμε τον θάνατο του αγαπημένου μας συζύγου, πατέρα, παππού και αδελφού Σωτήρη Τουμάζου, ο οποίος έφυγε από τη ζωή ειρηνικά την Δευτέρα 20 Νοεμβρίου 2023, σε ηλικία 81 ετών.

Καταλείπει την αγαπημένη του σύζυγο Ευφροσύνη, την κόρη Ηλιάνα, το γαμπρό του Γιάννη, τις εγγονές του Χριστιάνα, Φλωρεντία & αρραβωνιαστικό Νικόλα και Αντωνία. Καθώς και το τελευταίο επιζών αδερφάκι του Μάρκος και πολλοί συγγενείς και φίλοι.

Η κηδεία θα γίνει την Παρασκευή 8 Δεκεμβρίου 2023, στις 11.30 π.μ. από τον Ιερό Ναό Αγίου Ιωάννου του Θεολόγου, Hackney, 184 Mare Street, London, E8 3RD.

Η ταφή θα ακολουθήσει στις 1.30μ.μ στο κοιμητήριο Chingford Mount 121 Old Church Road, London E4 6ST.

Η παρηγοριά θα γίνει στο χόλ του Ιερό Ναό Αγίου Ιωάννου του Θεολόγου όπου ο Σωτήρης Τουμάζου ήταν μέλος της εκκλησίας για περισσότερα από 50 χρόνια.

Τα λουλούδια είναι ευπρόσδεκτα, ωστόσο θα υπάρχει ένα κουτί εισφορών για όσους επιθυμούν να κάνουν εισφορές σε φιλανθρωπικά ιδρύματα. Τα έσοδα θα διατεθούν στον MacMillan που τον βοήθησε στη μάχη του με τον καρκίνο, στο Great Ormond Street Hospital όπου ήταν ενεργό μέλος της φιλανθρωπικής οργάνωσης και στον Ιερό Ναό Αγίου Ιωάννου του Θεολόγου.

Ήταν ένας αφοσιωμένος στοργικός σύζυγος, πατέρας, αδερφός παππούς, θείος και νονός. Είχε τη μεγαλύτερη καρδιά και ήταν ο πιο γενναιόδωρος άνθρωπος που θα μπορούσε να γνωρίσει κανείς.

Ένας αληθινός κύριος, μοναδικός, που θα είναι για πάντα στις καρδιές μας. Ας είναι αιωνία η μνήμη του.
