In a revealing interview on the fan show “Orange Legacy” last Wednesday, club president Prodromos Petridis shed light on a prospective investor eyeing Apoel’s potential stadium.

The spotlight fell on Dinos Iordanou, a Cypriot resident of the United States, who is currently considering investing in the sporting facility.

Iordanou, also known as Constantine Iordanou in the USA, traces his roots back to Mathiatis and Lythrodontas. Having made the move to the United States in 1969 at the age of 17 and graduated from New York University with a BS in Aerospace Engineering.

He has since climbed the economic ranks to the 34th position among the wealthiest Greeks and Cypriots in the country, amassing an estimated fortune of 220 million euros.

His decades-long involvement in the American insurance sector and recent shareholding in the Bank of Cyprus underscore his extensive business portfolio.

The potential investor, Iordanou, received a comprehensive feasibility study and is expected to respond to his willingness to commit to the stadium project by the end of the month. This move signifies a significant development in the ongoing efforts to secure funding for building a new home ground for Apoel.

Also, a few years ago, an insurance company under his ownership became the primary sponsor for the Apollon Ladies team, featuring his daughter Kristin (Tina) Iordanou as a player.
