Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis, said on Thursday that tourist arrivals from Poland are expected to surpass 300,000 in 2024. Koumis had significant meetings with tourism stakeholders in the country during his visit there on Thursday and Friday.

According to a press release from the Deputy Ministry, Koumis said after his meetings in Poland, that air connectivity with the country was expected to further improve in the coming year, with flights to Cyprus from 11 different cities. Additionally, chartered flights from other companies are expected to be added to these routes.

“Personally, I consider the continued growth of the Polish market as a certainty, and with cautious optimism, I would like to emphasise that we anticipate it to reach or even surpass the threshold of 300,000 visitors next year,” he noted.

Koumis highlighted that the Polish tourist market has been growing steadily every year.

“This year has seen a significant increase compared to the previous year, reaching 47%, with arrivals totalling 240,000 by the end of October,” he said.

He also pointed out that the satisfaction level of Polish visitors is quite high, according to feedback received by the Ministry from its collaborators.

Koumis met with heads of tourist organisations executing programs in Cyprus during his visit to Poland. They exchanged views on the conclusion of this year, the satisfaction level of their clients, and plans for the next year.

Discussions focused on developments in the Polish market, particularly on issues related to air connectivity, potential increases in available seats, and the possibility of extending the duration of the tourist programmes of certain organisations.

In addition, meetings were held with organisations specialising in alternative forms of tourism, particularly focusing on sports tourism. The Deputy Minister also gave interviews to three Polish media.
