AKEL amendment tabled
NO TO THE MILITARISATION OF CYPRUS-EUROPE
We want Cyprus to be a bridge of peace and cooperation between the peoples of the region and not an aggressive launching pad and spy base of foreign forces.
With the amendments it submitted, AKEL called any funds in the budget to be cut that are allocated for the American Cyprus Centre for Land Open Seas and Port Security (CYCLOPS) centre, which promotes US interests in the Eastern Mediterranean, the participation of Cyprus in the European military programme Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO), which complements NATO, as well as other military missions of the EU (CODAPA, EUMAM, European Peace Facility).
