Newport County and Barnet will require an FA Cup second-round replay after late drama at Rodney Parade.

With the match goalless and half-time approaching, Newport’s Shane McLoughlin scored the opening goal by tapping home James Clarke’s low cross.

County had Nick Townsend to thank for preserving their lead as he made a brilliant save to deny Zac Brunt.

Townsend then kept out Nicke Kabamba, but could do nothing to stop Danny Collinge earning a replay late on.

Barnet are looking to reach the third round for the first time since the 2018-19 season, while County reached the third round back in 2020-21.
