Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire at Conservative MP Mike Freer’s offiçe office on Ballards Lane in Finchley.

An external shed was destroyed by fire. Part of the first, second and third floors of the property were also damaged by the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade was called at 1905 and the fire was under control by 2036. Fire crews from Finchley, Barnet, Hendon and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
