Panathinaikos beats PAOK at Toumba, opens seven-point gapGreens triumph in Thessaloniki thanks to Aitor’s brace, to extend their perfect recor 

Spanish winger Aitor Cantalapiedra appears to be leading Panathinaikos to its first league title in 13 years, as he scored another brace on Sunday to see the Greens come from behind and beat PAOK at Thessaloniki.

Panathinaikos is now on six wins in six games in the Super League, after downing hitherto unbeaten PAOK 2-1.

Nelson Oliveira gave PAOK a first-half lead after a wonderful backflick by Douglas Augusto, but Aitor responded in the second half with two goals in 22 minutes, the second from the penalty spot, to turn things around in Panathinaikos’ favor.

The result means Panathinaikos is now on 18 points, while PAOK, Olympiakos and Volos are on 11.

Olympiakos has got Spaniard Michel Gonzalez back on its bench and resumed winning on Sunday. The Reds beat visiting Atromitos 2-0 at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, both goals coming from Cedric Bakambu.

Alan Pardew’s Aris suffered a 2-0 reverse at Volos, with the Thessaly side climbing up to joint second at the table. Milos Deletic and Barrientos were on target for Volos.

In other weekend games, Lamia and Asteras Tripolis scored their first wins of the season, both at home: Lamia defeated neighbor Levadiakos 1-0 and Asteras saw off OFI 2-0.
