An investigation is underway following a fatal road traffic collision in Camden.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward after police were called at 01:50hrs on Sunday, 20 June, to a car in collision with a pedestrian in Oakley Square, NW1.

A woman, aged in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

There have been no arrests at this time and the vehicle stopped at the scene.

DC Leo Christian from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, who leads the investigation, said: “This is a tragic incident in which a young woman has lost her life. We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, who may have dashcam footage or who has seen what happened, to come forward.

“Our thoughts remain with the victim and her family at this very difficult time for them. We are working hard to understand the circumstances that led to this tragic incident – please do let us know if you were in the area and saw what happened.”
