The Ministry of Health announced on Friday that one 30 year old patient died of COVID19, bringing the number of deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic to 372, 249 men (67%) and 123 women (33%). Their median age is 77.

Meanwhile, 38 patients are receiving treatment in state hospitals, 15 of whom in a critical condition.

In the last 24 hours 53,864 tests were carried out and 60 new coronavirus cases were detected. The positivity rate stands at 0.11%.  Until today, 73,115 persons have been infected with the virus in Cyprus.

The deceased was a 30 year old man who died in the ICU of the Nicosia General Hospital.

Out of the 15 patients who are in a serious condition, 8 are intubated.

In the Famagusta General Hospital there are 11 patients, 16 in the Nicosia General Hospital, 9 are being treated in the Limassol General Hospital and 2 in the Makario Hospital in Nicosia.

The 53,864 tests were carried out with the PCR method (6,314) and the rest with the antigen rapid test method. 

The 60 new cases were found as follows: 14 from contact tracing, 4 from samples taken at the airports, 15 from tests done after private initiative, 1 from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals and 26 from antigen rapid tests.
No cases were found from 196 samples taken after GP referrals and from 354 tests done in private laboratories and pharmacies.
