On 8th July 2021, Greek Cypriot superstar Anna Vissi will be singing onboard the luxurious yacht, aptly named Zeus, of successful Cypriot businessman John Christodoulou.
The boat will be moored at Limassol Marina and will be the host of a philanthropic gala to benefit Special Needs Public Schools in Cyprus, organised by John and the Yianis Christodoulou Foundation.
Over the years, John has helped several good causes, with children’s education in underprivileged neighbourhoods and within orphanages being the main focus of his foundation. Projects include completing a full renovation of the Bolton FAB centre, fully funding the renovation of a multi-purpose and multi-media classroom in a primary school in Nicosia situated in a deprived area, and the renovation of the ground floor of a Children’s House in Nicosia which hosts young children under the care of social services.
The foundation has also supported the set up of SISTEMA CYPRUS through the purchase of string instruments to be used for a children’s orchestra, as well as funding the purchase and installation of special outdoor multi-sport flooring to cover the basketball court at the 3rd Kaimakli Primary School.
Anna Vissi is not new to charity work. She has helped raised funds in support of the Sophia Foundation for Children, a charity established in 2008 by Cypriot volunteers, which takes care of vulnerable children living in poverty in Cyprus and Kenya.
Meanwhile, the singer has released a new single, Ki Omos Den Teleionei, a collaboration with Babis Stokas.
Originally an Italian track with music by Luca Barbarossa, the lyrics to the Greek version were penned by Nikos Moraitis.
Announcing the release of the soft-rock ballad, Stokas posted on social media: “One night in Kalamata, at the house of my friend Elias, we listened to Italian songs… At one point I heard this song and it immediately crossed my mind to adapt it. The first person I thought of singing it with was Anna! I sent it to her, she heard it and she really liked the idea. We sent it to Nikos and the same day we had the words. Now is the time to listen to it and love it as much as we do. Anna thank you, you are wonderful!”
The single is accompanied by a music video shot in picturesque Hydra.
