Cyprus Health Ministry announced 2 deaths from COVID-19 and 100 new cases on Monday. It also announced that 106 patients are in hospitals, 43 of whom are in serious condition.

According to the Ministry, the last patients were discharged yesterday from the COVID clinic at Paphos General Hospital and therefore the clinic is now going to be used as before.

The total deaths in Cyprus are 356 and the total cases since the pandemic broke out are 72,011.

Today`s cases were detected from a total of 52,815 tests (PCR and rapid). The positivity rate stands at 0,19%.

The deceased are both males 60 and 82 years old who passed away at the ICU of the Nicosia General Hospital. From the 356 deaths, 237 are male (67%) and 119 female (33%) and their media age is 78 years.

From the 43 patients in serious condition, the 26 are intubated, 6 are in ICU and 11 in ACU.

From the 52,815 tests, 6,742 were PCR and 46,073 rapid tests.
The cases were detected as follows: 10 from 252 samples from contact tracing process, 3 from 3,827 tests at airports, 20 from 1,918 tests done on private initiative, 8 from 456 tests at Microbiological Labs of General Hospitals, 3 from 616 rapid tests at private labs or pharmacies and 56 from 45,457 rapid tests.

No cases was detected among 288 tests done after GP referrals or testing at public clinics and from 1 test done at Kato Pyrgos Tillirias residents.

The positivity rate from rapid tests stands at 0,08% in Nicosia from 15,322 tests, 0,21% in Limassol from 10,261 tests, at 0,17% in Larnaka from 5,913 tests , at 0,09% in Paphos from 4,416 tests and at 0,08% in Famagusta from 2,641 tests.
