Panathinaikos 5 – 3 springhill

Pao started the game meaning business and controlled the game from the off but Springhill utd were an organised and experienced side. Paos forward line were finding it hard to break through the defence and when eventually they did their excellent goal keeper wasnt allowing Panathinaikos to score.
After 30 minutes pao broke the deadlock, a through ball to manthi on the left who delicately chipped the on coming keeper to score 1-0 Pao. More chances were created by Pao but failed to capitalise then against the run of play springhill converted their only chance, a free kick from the right curling into the near post. 1-1.
With 3 minutes to go before half time pao up the tempo and with great footwork from Andrew y beating his marker, the keeper pulled out another fine stop but only to palm it to manthi who scored his and Paos 2nd.
Ht 2-1
Second half started similar to the first with pao playing good football then suddenly ball over the top from springhill caught pao defence napping and left the striker 1 on 1 with Stephen pao keeper who nearly saved the shot but unfortunately it slid under his body. 2-2.
Pao were shaken and found themselves 2-3 down as nerves were beginning to show. George and salvi manged to calm the players and introduced a few subs. This provided a different approach and pao manged to score a 3rd to bring the score level to 3-3.
Pao did not fancy going to penalties and changed the tempo of the game with a fast flowing one touch football, Anthony slipped through nfarli to make it 4-3 and with 4minutes to play anthony c picked up a loose ball and played nfarli in to score his 3rd and his first hattrick. Pao saw the game out and it finished 5-3.
Pao will fly the kopa flag into the next round against one of the favorites Sedons 2nd may at enfield playing fields.
