The President and his government are in confrontation with society

Cypriot society is following with astonishment the freedom of the press being the new victim of the Anastasiades government’s authoritarianism and regime-style mentalities. President Anastasiades and his government are in confrontation with society.
First, the Anastasiades-DISY government is the personification of the glaring conflict of interest and interwoven interests: The involvement of the President and members of his government in the “golden” passport industry, the many millions of Euros taken out by the President’s in-laws to avoid the 2013 haircut on bank deposits, the holiday to the Seychelles with the Saudi tycoon’s private jet to whom the President granted dozens of passports, and the obvious examples of conflict of interest and interwoven interests.
Secondly, Mr. Anastasiades is the first and only President of Cyprus to discuss with politicians, diplomats, journalists and the Archbishop, the partition of Cyprus and a two states solution. He discussed this dangerous solution, which is officially being promoted by the Turkish side after the assumption by Ersin of as the leadership of the Turkish Cypriot community.
