The regime in the occupied Cyprus on Monday announced stricter measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, which include temporarily banning people from crossing between the two sides for work. It was decided also to raise the quarantine period for people entering the occupied north from 7 to 10 days.

All those who want to visit, must now present a negative PCR test certificate not older than three days, but they must also stay in quarantine for 10 days.

As regards people who live in the north and work in the Republic, and those who do trade under the Green Line Regulation, they will be banned from crossing between the two sides of the island from December 15 until December 25. This also concerns taxi drivers transporting passengers.

Students and those who are under medical treatment in the Republic are exempt from the new measures.

Cyprus News Agency has learned that the new measures do not affect residents from the Tylliria region who use Limnitis checkpoint for access to Nicosia.
