When charity Clic Sargent, Young Lives vs Cancer suddenly lost their sponsor, local Crouch End Estate Agency, David Astburys, jumped in to help. The team at the community focused independent agency immediately donated their Christmas bonuses and spent the last few weeks delivering food parcels to families in need who have children at Great Ormond Street Hospital fighting cancer.

Clic Sargent are a charity who focus on helping families limit the damage cancer causes beyond their health.

Aaron Cox, Managing Director at David Astburys Estate Agency said, ‘When we were approached by Clic Sargent and they explained the amazing support they provided these families who have small children fighting for their lives at Great Ormond Street, we wanted to do anything we could do to help. The entire team immediately offered to donate their Christmas bonuses to sponsor 30+ food parcels and have participated by delivering them to families across London.’

David Astburys are also supporting Hornsey Food Bank and Tricky Period as they are an official drop off location for donations for both organisations.

Hornsey Food Bank provides food parcels and necessities to a countless number of families and individuals every month. They are an independent community led group run entirely by volunteers. Tricky Period is a period poverty initiative developed by grassroots homelessness group Streets Kitchen. They supply period products to several women’s shelters, refuges, mother and baby assessment units.

The pandemic and rising unemployment means that there is an increasing number of people in need who are struggling to make ends meet. This was the driving force which led to the involvement of the Estate Agency and their desire to support both organisations.

Yianni Aresti, Lettings Director and Partner at David Astburys Estate Agency said, “The need for many in our community is greater than ever and we are inviting locals to drop off donations to our Crouch End office, anything you can give is helpful, however small.”
