One more death and 751 new COVID-19 cases were announced on Monday by the Cyprus authorities. As of today, positive rapid tests will not be confirmed via a PCR test, thus the 751 include the positive rapid tests.

Moreover, 153 patients are receiving treatment at the hospitals and 51 of them are in a serious condition. The total number of of tests (PCR and rapid tests) is 13,482. The total cases in the Republic reached 20,408.

The deceased is an 81 year old male with underlying conditions, who was hospitalised at Limassol General Hospital.
Cyprus recorded 113 deaths so far, 74 males (65%), and 39 females (35%) with a median age of 80 years.

Of the 51 patients in serious condition, 28 are intubated in ICUs and 23 in the Advanced Care Unit

The 571 new cases were detected as follows:

194 positive results were detected from 1,303 samples taken in the framework of contact tracing, 3 cases from 480 tests done at airports, 51 from 244 tests done on private initiative, 45 from 327 tests done at the Microbiological labs of General Hospitals island wide, 7 from 110 samples from GP referrals and public clinics, 2 from 137 tests done on the 7th day of a quarantine period for passengers who arrived from the UK and they remain in isolation in hotels paid by the Republic and 449 cases from 10,881 samples of confirmed rapid tests with PCR.
