The Health Ministry of Cyprus announced two deaths and 419 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday.

The total number of deaths recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic in Cyprus reached 89 with an average age of 78 years-old, while the number of cases increased to 17.476.  

It was also announced that 115 patients are being treated in hospitals 22 of them in a serious situation.
 
One of the two persons who have died, is an 81-year-old man with underlying health issues who was being treated at Nicosia general hospital. The other one was an 83-year-old woman who also had underlying health problems and was being treated at Limassol General Hospital.

The Ministry of Health said 115 people with coronavirus are being treated in hospital, 11 of them are intubated, two are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit and 9 in the Increased Care Unit.

Fifty-eight patients are being treated in Famagusta General Hospital.
Another 28 patients are being treated at Nicosia General Hospital of whom 12 are in the Intensive Care, 11 in the Covid ward and 4 in the Increased Care Unit.  
A total of 26 patients are being treated in Limassol General Hospital and 3 patients are in the Makario Hospital.

The new 419 cases were found from 4,323 PCR tests done thus bringing the total number of cases to 17,476. Of them 144 were done on 146 people who had previously tested positive by rapid test and were confirmed by PCR test.
Another 121 cases were found out of 778 samples taken in the process of contact tracing. Two cases were detected from 1,112 samples taken from passengers and repatriates. Another 125 cases were detected out of 1.634 tests done on private initiative. Also, 24 cases were found after 384 tests in the laboratories of state hospitals.
Three of the new cases were detected after a referral by their personal doctor for a PCR test.

A total of 5,981 rapid test done island-wide gave 215 positive results that are yet to be confirmed by PCR test.
 
The Ministry of Health announced that 44 positive results were found from 932 rapid tests carried out in Limassol. The positivity rate stands at 4.72%.

A total of 1,653 rapid tests were done in Larnaka with 90 positive results. The positivity rate is 5.44%.

In Nicosia were done 1,747 rapid tests that gave 48 positive results. Positivity rate 2.75%.

A total of 310 rapid tests were carried out in Paphos with 8 positive results and the positivity rate at 2,58%.

In Famagusta were done 1,013 rapid tests with 9 positive results. Positivity rate: 0,88%.

Also, 100 rapid tests were done in care homes in Nicosia wti 4 positive cases found.
 
Finally, out of 206 Rapid tests on private initiative in private labs 12 positive results were found. Positivity rate:  5.83%.
