Barnet Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Tim Flowers as the Clubs new First Team Manager.

Flowers joins the Bees with significant experience both on the pitch and in the dugout during his career. The former England international goalkeeper most recently managed fellow Vanarama National League side Solihull Moors.

The former Premier League winner has also enjoyed success as a manager, most notably at the Moors, where he guided them to a second place finish in the table before missing out on promotion in the play-offs during his first season with the Club.

Flowers was recently appointed manager at Macclesfield Town before their sad liquidation at the beginning of the season. He now joins the Bees hoping to instil that winning mentality that he had on the pitch as a goalkeeper, as well as the successful culture he brought to the Moors in the 2018-19 season.

The 53-year-old now joins the Club with immediate effect ahead of his first game which will take place this weekend in the FA Trophy. His first day as manager will start at The Hive London tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.

Speaking on Flowers appointment, Chairman Tony Kleanthous said: “It is quite obvious that the Club has been on a downward spiral since our relegation from the Football League. It is time for us to address this decline and make a notable appointment of an experienced and determined manager, who will instil a winning mentality.”

New Manager Tim Flowers said:

“First and foremost I am absolutely delighted to be named manager of Barnet Football Club, it is a Club of rich tradition and I can’t wait to get started. It is a community club, who need the supporters back at the heart of it and I intend to bring the success that they deserve. Looking from the outside, it is a Club that needs galvanising and it’ll be my job to do that from the outset.

“Clearly from the outside, there are things that need changing, the results speak for themselves. I still believe we can make a fist of this season but we must act immediately and begin to turn this season around.

“I believe that we have some very good footballers, but they must improve very quickly to make a good go of this season. I will be bringing one member of staff with me, I intend to meet the players tomorrow, before getting right to work on Wednesday morning ahead of our FA Trophy tie this Saturday.

“I am proud to be a part of this football club and the hard work starts now, as we look to turn our season around. I know that the supporters will get right behind us and we will do everything to make them love our football club.”
