UK Cypriot iconographer George Ioannou recently published a unique 400 page book featuring 1000 Saint entries and over 200 illustrations and accompanying text.
Titled Britanniae Gloria – The Glory of Britain: An Iconographer’s Pattern Book of the British and Irish Saints from the 1st – 11th Century, it took George over 30 years to research and put together.
He explained, “One reason this was started so many years ago was for me as an iconographer to have a sort of data base of British and Irish Saints. As we learnt more about the indigenous Saints in Britain and the advent of the WWW, it became even more important to find out source material for this subject and have a far more accurate idea of representing these Saints in an iconographic form.”
The book costs £15.00 plus £5.00 P&P and can be purchased directly from George via PayPal.me/iconpattern19
