Hundreds of worshippers gathered by coach and minibus on Sunday 10 February 2019 to the beautiful Greek Orthodox Church of St. Charalambos in East Hyde, Luton. In celebration of Saint Charalambos all visitors were greeted at the door given a sticker of the Saint and a donated gift following the service by a lady who’s son is of the name Charalambos. 

The Rt. Revd Athanasios Bishop of Tropaiou officiated the Divine Liturgy along with our Revd Oeconomos Nikolaos and other visiting priests. Among distinguished guests was Deputy Mayor of Luton, Cllr. Mark Rivers, Member of Parliament Bambos Charalambous, Pantelis Demosthenous and others. 

Celebrations continued for 164 guests at the Co-op Sports & Social Club, who were treated to a sit down meal, Greek music and other entertainment. Presentations were made to the Deputy Mayor with a photographic book of Doros Partasides and on canvas a photograph of his Eminence Archbishop Gregorios by Alexios Gennaris to Bishop Athanasios.

All persons who also attended the meal were also given a small Icon of St. Charalambos that were specially made for us from Cyprus.
