Tonight Thursday  is expected to be the coldest night of the winter in Cyprus,  with temperatures reaching 2 degrees below zero in some parts. Director of Meteorological Service Kleanthis Nicolaides told CNA.

“It’s the first time, since October 1, when we started recording data for the winter season, that we record such low temperatures,” Nicolaides said.

Temperatures will be 5 C inland, 8 on the coasts and 2 C in the mountains. Frost  is expected to remain overnight  in certain areas.

Friday will be mainly fine with Temperatures 16 C inland and on the coasts and 3 C in the mountains.

On Saturday the weather will be cloudy at intervals with a possibility of showers in the afternoon. There may be sleet or snow in the higher peaks.

Sunday and Monday will be cloudy with a possibility of showers and/or storms. And Snow is expected in the mountains.

Temperatures will start edging up on Sunday to the average for this time of year

For New year’s eve and New year’s day they are not in a position to say what they think the weather will be like.
