Nicosia President Anastasiades could have reacted thoughtfully, rejecting as unsubstantiated the Turkish Cypriot leader’s allegations that he is seeking to transform the Turkish Cypriots into a minority.

Instead of doing that, he has sought to once again demonize the one positive vote that will be required by the Ministerial Cabinet and in some federal bodies, so that the Greek Cypriot majority will not decide on everything on its own.

It’s merely enough to compare Mr. Anastasiades’ statements over the recent period with his earlier public rhetoric and sermons to others in order for him to realize in what direction he is now heading towards.
