The Cyprus Department of Meteorology issued a “yellow warning” for extreme high temperature on Thursday. The maximum temperature inland is expected to reach 41 degrees Celsius between 11.00am and 17.00pm, a relevant announcement says.

The warning also notes that the public should be aware that high temperatures are expected, adding that some health risks amongst vulnerable people, such as the elderly and the young, are possible.
