Peter J. Pappas, a Greek Cypriot -American entrepreneur sadly passed away in New York on Thursday.

Peter J Pappas was the President of PJ Mechanical Corp a major air conditioning installation contractor , service and maintenance organisation in New York.

Through his various companies he was responsible for renovations on many of New York’s signature buildings, including the Chrysler Building, Park Avenue Atrium, Citicorp Building, the Time Warner Center, and two new stadiums, Citifield and Yankee Stadium.

He was also a prime real estate developer and investor mainly in the USA.

Peter was also the former Chairman and President of the Cyprus Childrens Fund

Peter j Pappas was born 8th December 1939 in New York and one of  his parents was Cypriot and the other from Greece.

Peter J. Pappas had received many awards from various Greek and Cypriot  communities, he was an Archon of the Greek Orthodox Church  among them the Hellenic Heritage Award and the Honorary Gold Medal of the Republic of Cyprus he received from the President of the Republic of Cyprus.

He was married to Catherine Pappas and is survived by their three children Peter, James and Tara and nine grandchildren.
