British Transport Police officers are appealing for information after a bank card was taken from a partially sighted man.

At around 6.20pm on 17 October, the victim went to use the cash machine at Angel Underground Station. He was just finishing his transaction when a man behind him interrupted and said he needed to re-enter his PIN in order for the machine to return his card.

The victim did not comply but could not understand why his card had not been returned by the machine. The man persisted in trying to get the victim to enter his PIN but then left the area.

The victim then realised his debit card had been stolen. Minutes after the theft, £450 was fraudulently withdrawn from the victim’s account.

CCTV shows two men around the victim, who carries a white cane, at the time of the offence. They both left the station via the north entrance.

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting 342 of 9/12.
