Detectives in Haringey are investigating a violent incident which has left a teenager critically injured.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service to Waldgrave Road, Haringey at around 00:50hrs on Friday, 23 December, to reports of a man stabbed.

The 23-year-old man [A] was taken to hospital where he remains. His condition is not believed to be serious.

At approximately 01:00hrs that morning, police were alerted by staff at a north London hospital to a man admitted with stab wounds.

The 19-year-old man was taken to an east London hospital. His condition is now described as serious, but stable.

Detectives from Haringey CID are investigating and believe the 19-year-old man was stabbed in the area of Turnpike Lane or Waldegrave Road.

The 23-year-old man [A] was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Once discharged from hospital he was taken into custody, where he was later released on bail pending further enquires.

Four other males (no further details at this time) were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. All have also been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
