First Round
Komi Kebir 1 Olympia 3
This was Hellenic TV’s game of the day and pitched the third placed team in Division one with the second placed team in Division Two and for much of the game there wasn’t much at all between the sides with some lovely football played by both teams although Komi’s keeper Filip was the busier of the two in the first half.
The game was goalless at the break with Komi defending brilliantly and always looking to break Olympia down. It was Komi who took a lead on 60 minutes when Andreas Bryant Economides picked up the ball 25 yards out and curled it into the top right hand corner.
Olympia were putting pressure on Komi’s defence with wave after wave of attacks and were finally rewarded when they were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area on 75 minutes and Ricky Loucas curled it into the top right hand corner for the equaliser. Five minutes later it was Loucas again who scored from the edge of the area to take the lead for Olympia.
As Komi now pushed for an equaliser, Olympia broke down the left in the last minute and were awarded a penalty which Ricky Loucas put away for his hat trick.
