Two people were rescued by firefighters after a fire at a block of flats in Norton Close, Enfield.

Part of a flat on the first floor of the building was damaged by fire.

One man was rescued by breathing apparatus crews and was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews. A woman was also rescued by fire crews using a nine metre ladder.

The Brigade was called at 1842 and the fire was under control at 1914. Two fire engines from Enfield Fire Station attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
