AEK Larnaca missed out on the chance to pull away in the league title race after an injury-time equaliser from Wilson Kenidy saw Doxa grab a shock 1-1 draw against Imanol Idiakez’s side.

The Larnaca club – who are now level on points at the top of the standings with Pambos Christodoulou’s APOEL – had taken a sixth minute lead through Constantinos Charalambides but hosts Doxa turned up the heat in the second half and managed to snatch a late equaliser to boost their survival hopes.

Title holders APOEL will also go level with AEL and AEK if they beat Anorthosis Famagusta in the Monday night kick-off.

In the other games on Sunday, Limassol sides Karmiotissa and Aris played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at the GSZ Stadium.

Silvio Gonzalez had fired Aris into an early lead after a mistake from Christos Wheeler before David Poljanec equalised.

The celebrations were short lived however as second half goals from Elias Vattis and a penalty Yiannis Taralides put Karmiotissa ahead before Harmony Ikande, himself, scored from the spot with six minutes left.

Ethnikos Achnas continued their improving form of late with a 3-1 win over AEZ.

The hosts had stormed into a dizzying 3-0 lead inside the opening ten minutes after goals from Nika Kacharava – who bagged two – and Yiannis Hatzivasilis. Nicolas Villafane scored a late consolation goal for AEZ.
