Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers have been called to a fire at a flat in High Road, South Tottenham.

Part of a flat on the second floor of the building was damaged by fire.

Three people left the building before the arrival of the Brigade and one person was led to safety by crews wearing breathing apparatus. Another six people were evacuated from neighbouring flats.

The Brigade was called at 1220 and the fire was under control at 1341. Fire crews from Stoke Newington, Tottenham, Holloway and Hornsey fire stations are at the scene.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
