The first five teams of the Cyprus championship achieved victories in the match day 15 and as a result the standings kin the top remained unchanged.
AEK beat Doxa with 2-0, Anorthosis defeated Nea Salamina with 2-1, APOEL achieved an away win against Pafos FC with 1-0 and Apollon beat Paralimni with 2-1.
The weekend results in round 15 of the Cyprus football championship went as expected with the top five teams registering wins.
Anorthosis, who currently share top spot with AEK, had to dig deep to overcome a spirited Nea Salamina in the Famagusta derby.
New Salamis got off to a good start with Adorno giving them a deserved lead late in the first half.
However, on the stroke of half-time Anorthosis got a penalty which Ndlovu scored from.
Anorthosis got a late winner with Avraam.
AEK continued their impressive run that keeps them at the top of the table with a comfortable 2-0 win over Doxa Katokopias, Tomas opened the scoring in the fourth minute and Larena made sure of the points in the 15th minute with a beautiful strike from outside the area.
APOEL maintained the pressure on the leading two with a difficult but deserved win against Paphos FC. Vander got the all-important goal in the 14th minute.
Apollon and Omonia defeated Paralimni and Ethnikos respectively by the same scoreline, 2-1. In fact both teams took the lead through a penalty kick, both led by two goals at half-time and both had to endure a nervy final few minutes as they inexplicably allowed their opponents back into the game.
AEL managed to overcome bottom of the table Ayia Napa and move clear of the relegation zone. The only goal of the game came from defender Adrande while the final game of the weekend between Ermis and Aris ended in a goalless draw.
